I know the title of this post may seem strange but you just wait until you hear about the amenities she had at the NICU and you will see why it's titled Hotel NICU (at least for Cosette's sake). Most already know why she was there but for those that don't. I was induced a month early for certain reasons and so her lungs still needed some help maturing.
First of all she had these lovely ladies called Nurses watching her 24/7 telling her how cute she is and feeding her lots of rich milk from Mom (the nurses liked to call it liquid gold). Lucky her!! She also had a bed of her own with all sorts of neat tricks. It went up and down and even had a cap on it to keep the other people from disturbing her sleep.
Don't let the cords and fabric over her eyes fool you. She was a mover and she could move all around the nurses even said that she could flip over from her tummy to her back. Now that we have her home we see why. She does not like to be on her tummy. And even though she screamed for them. She was still taken care of with lots of love.
I think that the best part of all was that she had some buddies in the beds next to her. I call them her NICU boyfriends. They were two adorable little boys. One of them actually went home the same day as Cosette.
I understand that not every baby can have as good health as Cosette and some of them are really struggling in the NICU and my heart goes out to those babies and to the families. But for Cosette thankfully it was just a short stay. We are glad to have her home!!!
Grandma O'Connor with baby Cosette!!
She even had medical reasons to tan!! That's why she has on the billi band over her eyes.
