As most of you know Nathan went to China for a week for school. He had a great time learning about international business and enjoyed the culture. After he was in China for a week he went to Taiwan to visit with Pieter and Angela and their beautiful little children, Amira and Corban. He had such a good time with them and we are grateful that they let him stay for a whole week.
Nate was on his journey home to Pennsylvania when he took what was supposed to be a short layover in Japan. Well as most of you know he was there at the wrong time because that was the day that the earthquake hit. He was fine but it was a little scary to not know what was going on outside of the airport. After two days in the Tokyo airport he finally got a flight home. Then he went to Texas for an interview. He got the internship he was interviewing for and then came home again. Overall, it was a crazy time and we are glad that we are together as a family now.
This is the MAG LEV which is a bullet train in China. It was going at about 431 Km/h which is about 270 mph. This is the fastest Nathan has ever traveled on land.
Nate found a broom and took a picture for fun.
I am glad that our consumer goods are not blessed by monks because I love to get bargains.
Nate got to visit Disney (Shanghai).
Wal*Mart is everywhere! Even in China.
Anyone want to buy some live fish and frogs. And NO they are not for pets!
Turtle Soup anyone! Walmart has turtles too!
Thats right still at WalMart. Chickens hanging from a stick look so yummy.
This picture looks like human hands but don't worry WalMart does not sell human hands, these are chicken feet.
Don't have a car...no problem, just take the WalMart Bus! This bus picks people up just to give them a ride to WalMart and back. Gotta sell those chickens and turtles somehow.
This is Nate outside a really tall building in China!
Lights in Shanghai at night.
Bamboo garden.
Another one in the garden outside of an ancient Chinese Temple.
Chinese building with a fancy roof.
Corban and Amira in Taiwan.
Amira is so beautiful! We all miss her so much.
Eating hot-pot with the family.
This sweet ride will not get Nate very far. It's a stone sculpture.
Nate fought with this car while on a walk in the park.
Pieter was getting graduation pictures and we thought that this one made him look really smart.
Aw look at the cute little baby.
This is Pieter and Nate.
Another building. Nate claims that is used to be the tallest building in the world like years ago but it doesn't look that tall to me.
This picture is not just a regular treadmill. It's actually a great way to get your exercise. Nate said that you walk on the treadmill and the screen in front takes you on a tour of the city. This was in a museum in Taipei.
If you don't want to take the treadmill then try the bike or a skateboard for your city tour. Just watch the screen and enjoy the scenery.
Amira decided to take the bike.
This is Amira and her beautiful mother, Angela. We are so excited for the newest baby Peruch to arrive soon.
After the earthquake in Japan they had all the people in the airport go out to the runway. Nate got to get up close to the planes and got some fun pictures.
I like this picture because it looks like the plane has an umbilical cord. I wonder who it's mother would be?
